About
Charlotte Morran is the owner and trainer at Orchard Blossom Farm. With over 20 years of equine experience and continuing education, she offers her students a wide range of knowledge.
Charlotte grew up in Ojai as a resident student at Ojai Valley School. From the age of 8, she was learning hands on care of horses, riding daily and immersing herself in the fantastic equestrian program the school offered to all its students. She was lucky enough to ride every horse the school had to offer, enabling her to develop a feel for a wide variety of horses. She showed and rode for pleasure, trying many different disciplines from eventing, to team penning, to her great love, dressage.
After OVS, Charlotte attended the University of Nevada, Reno where she graduated in 2003, with a degree in animal science with an emphasis is equine science. During this time, she again rode all the horses her school had to offer and competed in the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association. She also began her professional career, riding and showing for many clients who boarded their horses at the UNR equestrian center.
In 2004, Charlotte moved back to Ojai and began training privately for a small group of clients. She also returned to the Ojai Valley School and served as their equine manager for the next three years. This involved managing over 60 horses, as well as teaching a variety of ages and disciplines.
Charlotte founded Orchard Blossom Farm in August of 2007. Her main priority has been to offer clients a comprehensive program where classical horsemanship is the foundation. She teaches dressage through FEI levels and competes through the FEI levels herself.
Charlotte holds all her students to the highest standards and believes that equitation is the foundation for all styles of riding. While her more advanced students focus mainly on dressage, she also teaches basic jumping skills, and many of her students compete in eventing as well as in the hunter/jumper ring.
Along with lessons, Charlotte also offers training for every breed and age of horse. She is comfortable starting horses and does so with classical dressage principles in mind.
Orchard Blossom Farm is located at the peaceful and well maintained Friend’s Stable and Orchard. There are many stabling options to choose from, as well as a dressage arena, jumping arena and grass pastures. You can find more info on the facility and stabling at friendsstableandorchard.com.
